TransitPoint’s Consulting services provide a process that allows the needs of the client to be transitioned from the Conceptual Design phase through Detailed Design including the development of budgetary cost plans, risk analysis and technology options.
The methodology employed to determine both the current and future needs of our client is centred on identifying the critical success factors relating to the use of multimedia communications facilities.
The process involves a number of simple steps starting with a review of the existing infrastructure and usage followed by interviews with the stake holders including the completion of comprehensive application-based questionnaires to draw out the specific needs of the users.
Conceptual Design
The Conceptual Design is based on the outcome of the Needs Analysis phase of the project and provides the client with an overview of the technology available in the marketplace that can be matched to their requirements.
Conceptual Designs are based on generic audiovisual, videoconferencing and multimedia solutions and it is at this stage that a budgetary cost plan is developed. Accommodation, network and environmental issues are considered and their impact noted.
Where new or untried technology solutions are proposed, a risk analysis is conducted and presented to the client.
A functional specification is one that describes what the user expects in terms of the performance of an audio visual facility without going into the level of technically specifying the equipment’s electrical performance.
These designs contain sufficient detail and specific recommendations to ensure that the needs of the potential users are met and all building, physical, electrical, architectural and environmental issues are clearly defined.
If the design utilises the client’s network a detailed analysis will be performed to ensure that issues regarding network capacity and security are addressed and that any risks associated with the implementation are clearly defined.
Technology demonstrations are conducted with the client’s stakeholders, a detailed cost plan is developed and ROI’s (Registration of Interest) may be solicited from the marketplace to determine a short list of respondents and the ability of potential vendors to meet the client’s expectations.

Our implementation services are designed for those companies that have successfully completed a feasibility study of videoconferencing and have decided to proceed with the introduction of the technology to their organisation. Where it is deemed appropriate, a pilot study will be initiated which will identify pilot objectives, scope and support resources. In order for implementation services to be truly effective, they must include the following aspects:
